Touchstone one-day Writers Workshop – October 27, 2024
October 27 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Circle of Friends for the Dying presents
A Touchstone Writers One-Day Workshop
In-person at Jim & Lisa’s Circle Home
at 100 Wurts Street, Kingston
Sunday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Delve into your memories and record them for posterity! The six-hour intensive workshop, for both beginners and more seasoned writers, will guide you in shaping a legacy will—a personal document that tells your friends and family about your accomplishments, your dearly held beliefs, where you might have fallen short of your goals, who you are now, and what you wish for future generations. Ann Hutton, of Touchstone Writers, will use the Amherst Writers & Artists method to lead you into crafting your unique life stories.
You will benefit from expressing yourself in written words and receiving positive feedback. You will learn to listen for what works in another’s writing. And you will know that practicing the craft with others can be a rewarding and enlightening experience. When people write together and share their work, something magical happens. To know others and be known authentically affirms your place in life, however impermanent it may be.
It’s $75/person, or $60 if you register before October 13th. The fee minus $10 admin fee will be returned if you cancel on or before Oct 13th. After that date, special circumstances for a refund will be considered; otherwise, it will become a donation to Circle Home.
A writing notebook will be provided and you can bring a laptop. Limited to 10 people; bring a brown bag lunch; get ready to write! Register before October 26 by clicking here or using the QR code below:
About Ann:
I have led writing workshops for many years in various settings—at HealthAlliance Hospital’s oncology support house, at the Omega Institute for Breast Cancer Options’ annual retreat, at Bard College’s Lifetime Learning Institute, and others. I am excited to be on this journey with you. And a journey, it is. Writing your truth through personal narrative/essay/memoir/poetry can take you to places in your own past that you might have forgotten. Share what’s true for you! Leave your mark in your own words!
