Circle of Friends for the Dying has made Ulster County a leader in the death-preparedness movement in New York State. Learn about its vision, healthy attitudes about preparedness, and how to take your place in the ancestral continuum of life. Tune in to meet Barbara Sarah, CFD Co-Founder, and long-time CFD Supporter and Advisory Council member, Rev. Lynda Carré of Wellspring Passages.
Since 2012 Circle of Friends for the Dying has also served the community as an educational resource about the subject of dying and death. Death literacy is a high priority for our community’s well-being. We do this through lifelong learning courses, regional gatherings, guest speakers, workshops, and over 60 monthly Death Café events in person and online. This has made Ulster County a leader in the death-preparedness movement in New York State.
Healthy Ulster Radio is produced by the Ulster County Department of Health, in association with Pamal Broadcasting.
Program co-hosts are Ulster County Commissioner of Health and Mental Health, Dr. Carol Smith and Vincent Martello, Director of Community Health Relations.
Healthy Ulster Radio explores community health and wellness in all of its dimensions and features interviews with guests representing organizations that are working to improve community wellness and sustainability and advance Ulster County’s goal of becoming the healthiest county in New York State.

Barbara Sarah, LCSW
Barbara Sarah is a licensed social worker, community activist, death literacy educator, and co-founder and honorary Board Member of Circle of Friends for the Dying, founder of The Oncology Support Program at HealthAlliance Hospital, and leader of Death Café offerings in Ulster and Westchester Counties. Rev. Lynda Elaine Carré
Through her private practice, Wellspring Passages, Rev. Carré provides spiritual care and healing arts to those living with advanced illness and the dying. She is an interfaith hospice and palliative care chaplain, certified yoga therapist, ritualist, educator, death guide and planner, home funeral guide, and officiant, she is former Board member and current advisor to Circle of Friends for the Dying. https://www.wellspringpassages.com
