Each month, Jim & Lisa’s Circle Home opens its doors for a presentation and discussion group to give folks a warm and supportive space for sharing ideas and exploring topics related to dying and death. Life Matters is held in our home at 100 Wurts Street in Kingston’s Rondout District on the second Tuesday of every month, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. The room comfortably holds up to 18 people, so please register early if you are interested in attending. There is no fee for these discussions. Our speaker, Stephanie Speer, has taught mindfulness practices to individuals and groups for over 30 years. She received her Masters in Humanistic Education from Goddard College and completed her MBSR professional training from Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Nigel trained in psychiatry at University College London and St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, and was formerly on faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine.
